dc.description.abstract The effectiveness of humanitarian aid in our current global order is increasingly contested. The potential of changing aid practices to contribute to the successful achievement of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development is thereby questioned. This thesis suggests that a multi-angled approach, namely the triple nexus, could potentially lead to the implementation of the sustainable development goals and thereby pave the way for more sustainable aid. The thesis researches whether combining humanitarian-, development- and peace efforts into one joint response to achieve SDG II proves effective. Focussing on Ethiopia in particular, the effectiveness of domestic nexus practices is discussed according to criteria established in light of this research. The aim is to bring a current insight into the discussion over the efficiency of a new nexus approach while giving particular attention to the issue of food security in Ethiopia. en_US
