MOOC "Monitoring the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons" (2nd Edition, 2020). Report

Abstract

In this short report on the MOOC "Monitoring the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons" you will read about the demographics of the audience, feedback on the courseware, what was most liked, and recommendations for improvement. The MOOC's multidisciplinary and multiregional approach, as well as the testimonies by LGBT activists from Turkey, Lebanon and Brazil, were highly appreciated. Additional highlights were a lecture by UN Independent Expert on Violence and Discrimination Based on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, Victor Madrigal-Borloz, and an interview with Ms. Heidi Hautala, Member of the European Parliament. The MOOC offered knowledge, case studies and data that were not available before, thus inspiring new action in this area of human rights.
